Accreditation – Nursery Industry Best Practice

The Australian nursery industry has implemented a nursery accreditation scheme as a means of identifying those nurseries which use Nursery Industry Best Practices in their production systems, and which produce consistent quality products.

Best Practice is defined as:

  • good hygiene to minimise pests and diseases;
  • good plant management to produce vigorous plants;
  • professional operations and management to provide quality products.

The Nursery Industry Accreditation Scheme of Australia (NIASA) is managed by the Nursery Industry Association of Australia, working with a group of industry and technical specialists.

Accredited businesses are audited at least once a year by independent Technical Officers in accordance with “NIASA Best Practice Guidelines”.

Yuruga Nursery and Clonal Solutions Australia are both NIASA accredited nurseries.
